ABOUT FONTAINE BROTHERS

A family-built general contractor for custom homes, renovations, and historical restorations, with the same team beside you from your first conversation to the final walkthrough.

Building Homes in Rhode Island Since 2014

Chris Fontaine started framing homes at 17, working for his uncle’s custom framing business. He loved the craft, and he found he also enjoyed leading a crew and solving the hard problems that come with custom building. In April 2014, he started Fontaine Brothers & Associates. It was not inherited. This generation of the Fontaine family built it from the ground up, on hard work and a simple idea: if your family name is on the company, your character should show in the work you leave behind. In the first week of business, Chris wrote down what the company was for, and twelve years later we still build by it.

Our mission is to build a high-quality construction company that encompasses all aspects of residential projects. This will be accomplished in a way that provides an enriching career experience for our family and employees, reflects the utmost integrity, and establishes industry standard-setting performance. We undertake this mission to create a prosperous future for the Fontaine Family, while enhancing the lives of everyone who contributes to, or benefits from, the work we do.

Our Approach & Values

Our goal is not to be the biggest builder in Rhode Island. It is to be one of the most trusted.

Faith & Family

Our faith comes first, and this company carries our family name. We want our work to be something our children can be proud of.

Integrity

We keep our word, tell the truth, and do what is right even when it costs us something, especially when no one is watching.

Accountability

When we make a commitment, we stand behind it. When we make a mistake, we own it, communicate honestly, and make it right.

Service

We serve the families who trust us with their homes, the people who work beside us, and the communities where we build.

How We Work

Every project starts with a conversation. You don’t need finished plans, just a property and an idea, and reaching out 6 to 12 months before you’d like to start gives us time to plan it properly. We review your site and plans, then share complimentary ballpark pricing so we both know the project fits your budget before either of us invests in the next steps.

From there, we put together a detailed pre-construction package and a fixed-price contract. Once construction is scheduled, you have a Project Manager and a Project Supervisor, with Buildertrend keeping updates, photos, and approvals in one place. When the home is finished, we complete the details and walk it with you. Our one-year workmanship warranty follows, and we stay available to past clients after that year ends.

Meet the Family Behind Every Home

Fontaine Brothers is a family business in the plainest sense. Chris, Peter, and Jared are brothers. Josh, Shawn, and Dave are their cousins. Meagan is Chris’s wife, and Sandra is the mother of Chris, Peter, and Jared. But for us, family is more than blood. It is a choice to stand beside each other, hold the same standards, and take pride in what we build together. There is no “I” in this company. Every role matters, and we are only as strong as the person beside us.
