About 16 Highland Drive

16 Highland Drive is a front addition by Fontaine Brothers in Jamestown, Rhode Island. We’re building a new living space above the existing garage, with two dormers, so the home gains room without changing its footprint.

An addition has to tie into the house that’s already there, so the planning matters as much as the building. We assessed the existing structure, settled the scope and a fixed contract price, and pulled the permits before any work began. Chris Fontaine, a licensed Rhode Island builder (CRLB #19127), is overseeing the project from start to finish. The photos below follow the work so far, and we’ll add finished photos when the addition is complete.

Project Highlights

Here is how 16 Highland Drive has come together so far.

1. Structure & Framing

We framed the new space above the garage and tied it into the existing house, so the addition matches the roof lines.

2. Dormers & Exterior

The two dormers took shape, and the exterior was closed in to protect the new space.
