About 145 Sauga Ave.
145 Sauga Ave. is a new custom home on the water in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, built from the ground up by Fontaine Brothers. The blue-gray exterior, dark standing-seam metal roof, and teal front door give it a clean, modern look. Solar panels on the roof, an attached garage, and a paver walkway make it practical as well as good-looking.
Out back, the property opens to a patio, a level lawn, and a stone wall along the shoreline. Building this close to the bay takes planning, and we handled it the way we handle every coastal project: a site evaluation, a detailed scope, and a fixed contract price before construction started. Chris Fontaine, a licensed Rhode Island builder (CRLB #19127), stayed involved from start to finish.

Build Highlights
A waterfront build moves through four key stages.

1. Site Work & Foundation
Building near the water starts underground. We prepared the lot, set the foundation, and planned drainage so the home sits on the shoreline.

2. Framing & Dry-In
The structure went up, and the roof, windows, and exterior doors followed. Once the house was weathertight, interior work could start on schedule.

3. Exterior & Systems
The metal roof, siding, and solar panels went on, along with the electrical, plumbing, and mechanical rough-ins, all inspected before the walls were closed.

4. Interior Finishes
Cabinetry, trim, flooring, and paint came next. Then we did a final walkthrough with the owners and finished the landscaping, walkway, and patio.
